This Privacy Policy applies to the Haunts of Richmond website and to information we receive in connection with our tours, reservations, inquiries, and accommodation requests. Independently operated services, including FareHarbor, merchandise stores, social-media platforms, and partner websites, have their own privacy practices.

When you use our contact form, email us, telephone us, or otherwise communicate with us, we may receive information such as:
- Your first and last name.
- Email address.
- Telephone number.
- The subject and contents of your message.
- Information about the tour, event, or service that interests you.
- Other information you choose to provide.
We use this information to respond to you, provide requested assistance, organize tours and events, maintain appropriate business records, and protect our legitimate business interests.
Please do not send complete payment-card information, government identification numbers, detailed medical records, or other highly sensitive information through an ordinary email or contact-form message.
Accessibility and Accommodation Requests
You may provide information about an accessibility need or requested accommodation through the booking process or by contacting us directly. This information may reveal information about a disability or health-related need.
Please provide only the information reasonably necessary for us to understand and respond to your request. We use accommodation information to communicate with you, help identify an appropriate experience, and make reasonable arrangements when available. We do not use accommodation information for advertising.
Tour Reservations and Payments
Online booking is provided through FareHarbor. When you select a booking link, FareHarbor may appear as an embedded booking window or may open a page hosted by FareHarbor.
FareHarbor may collect information such as:
- Name, email address, and telephone number.
- Tour selection, date, time, number of guests, and reservation details.
- Responses to booking questions and accommodation notes.
- Billing, payment, and transaction information.
- Device, security, and fraud-prevention information.
Haunts of Richmond receives the reservation and guest information needed to provide the booked experience, communicate about the reservation, address safety or accommodation needs, and maintain appropriate business and accounting records. We generally do not receive or store your complete payment-card number.
FareHarbor and its payment providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices. You can review the FareHarbor Privacy Statement.
Information Collected Automatically
Our website host, security providers, analytics services, advertising services, and other technical providers may automatically receive information such as:
- Internet Protocol address.
- Browser and device type.
- Operating system and screen characteristics.
- Referring website, search engine, or advertising source.
- Pages viewed and general website interactions.
- Date and time of access.
- Approximate geographic area.
- Cookie, device, session, or advertising identifiers.
- Advertising click identifiers, when present.
- Technical errors, security events, and requested files.
We use this information to operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website; understand general website use; improve our content and services; and measure the effectiveness of advertising.
Google Analytics 4
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website.
Google Analytics may process information about pages viewed, general website interactions, referral sources, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, and cookie or session identifiers.
Google receives an IP address as part of the technical request. Google states that Google Analytics uses the address during collection, including to determine approximate location, but does not log or store individual IP addresses in Google Analytics.
Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and related cookies. User-level and event-level information is retained according to the retention settings configured for our Google Analytics property. Standard aggregated reports may remain available for longer periods.
For more information, review Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google Ads and Advertising Measurement
We use Google Ads to promote our tours and measure advertising performance. We do not install a separate Google Ads conversion tag on this website or within the FareHarbor booking process.
Our Google Analytics property is linked to our Google Ads account. Eligible events and conversion information collected through Google Analytics may therefore be shared with Google Ads to measure whether an advertisement led to a website visit, booking, purchase, inquiry, or other useful action. This information may also be used for campaign reporting, attribution, optimization, and other advertising features according to our Google account settings and your consent choices.
FareHarbor Analytics Integration
FareHarbor’s native Google Analytics integration may send booking and purchase events to our Google Analytics property. These events may include the tour or product purchased, transaction reference, purchase value, and related booking information.
Eligible events recorded in Google Analytics may then be shared with our linked Google Ads account for advertising measurement. FareHarbor and the website are not directly connected to Google Ads for this purpose.
We use this information to understand booking activity, reconcile advertising and reservation performance, and evaluate whether advertising resulted in completed purchases. We do not intentionally send complete payment-card information to Google Analytics or Google Ads.
Cookies and Your Choices
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Necessary: Required for website operation, security, booking functionality, and remembering privacy choices.
- Analytics: Used to understand website traffic, visits, and general interactions.
- Advertising: Used to measure advertising performance and, when enabled, support advertising audiences, remarketing, or personalized advertising.
When you first visit the website, our cookie-preference tool allows you to:
- Select Accept all optional cookies to permit the Analytics and Advertising categories.
- Select Decline optional cookies to continue without those optional categories.
- Select Customize to allow or decline Analytics and Advertising separately.
- Reopen Cookies later and change your selection.
Necessary technologies remain active because the website and privacy controls depend on them.
Your choice is remembered through a necessary consent-preference cookie until it expires or is deleted. You may also block or delete cookies through your browser. Deleting the preference cookie may cause the website to ask for your choices again.
Changing or withdrawing a preference does not undo processing that occurred before the preference was changed.

We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on the definitions used by applicable privacy law, allowing advertising providers to use cookies or identifiers for targeted advertising may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted-advertising activity.
You may opt out of those activities by disabling the Advertising category through Cookies.
External Websites and Services
Our website links to FareHarbor, our external merchandise store, social-media services, partner venues, and other third-party websites. Third-party content, reviews, or booking tools may also appear within our pages.

Children’s Privacy
Our tours may be attended by families, but this website and its booking services are intended for use by adults making reservations or inquiries.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian involvement. A parent or guardian may provide limited information about a minor when reasonably necessary to arrange a reservation, address a safety matter, or request an accommodation.
If you believe a child has provided information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.
Information Security
We and our service providers use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information. No website, payment method, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
International Processing
Google, FareHarbor, website providers, and other service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live. Providers are responsible for applying legally required safeguards to transfers they conduct.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services, providers, legal obligations, or data practices change. The “Last updated” date identifies the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, when appropriate, through an additional notice.
